  • Q: Why purchase Remote Control Manager?

A: The Remote Control Manager allows you to deploy, configure and update all of your SoThin Remote Control devices from a central location. Without Remote Control Manager, this process will have to be carried out manually at each PC.

  • Q: What does a "client" refer to?

A: A Client refers to a device, whether it's a PC or a laptop. Each device requires a Client license.

  • Q: What does Upgrade Protection cover?

A: Upgrade Protection can be renewed on a yearly basis and entitles you to updates, patches and upgrades to new versions. Additionally, you are entitled to email support and assistance for the duration of your Upgrade Protection period.

  • Q: Do you offer discounts for the education sector?

A: Yes, please contact us for a tailored quote by clicking here.

  • Q: Which Operating Systems can Remote Control be installed on?

    A: Windows NT4, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows Me, Windows XP (32bit).

  • Q: Does Remote Control support multiple monitors?

A: Unfortunately multiple monitors are not supported with SoThin Remote Control. This is due to potential incompatibilities between clients and viewers.

  • Q: Can I install SoThin Remote Control and the Remote Control Manager on the same computer?

A: This is not supported, as the SoThin Management Console installs its own version of Remote Control, which cannot be installed alongside the client product.

  • Q: I created a group in the Remote Control Manager with only numbers, and this group isn't visible in the folder tree.

A: There is a limitation in the Management Console which prevents groups containing only numbers in the title from appearing in the folder tree. To view this group, click on the Local or Remote item in the centre pane, and your group will appear in the right-hand pane. Opening this group will display all related connections as normal.
