Irving School District Licenses the Universal Imaging Utility Software

"I wish I would have found this software years ago."

MILWAUKEE, Wis., June 15, 2009 - Binary Research International (BRI), the authority on software cloning and migration since 1997 and part of the company that created the industry-leading cloning solution now known as Symantec Ghost, today announced that the Irving (TX) Independent School District has obtained a 10,000 seat license for the Universal Imaging Utility (UIU).

One of the more notable aspects of their purchase of the licenses is the speed of the decision itself.  In a span of about two weeks, Irving ISD went from reading an article about the UIU, downloading and testing it in their environment and ultimately issuing a purchase order.

The UIU works alongside existing hard-drive imaging software to enable IT departments to streamline their system rollouts and deployments. By using the UIU with Symantec's Ghost, Irving ISD is better able to serve the needs of the district's 33,000 students, faculty and staff.

"Once we tried the software we all were amazed at how it worked," said Paul Smith of Irving ISD. "In the past we would use the sysprep driver line to help us make a universal image but we can no longer do this as we go from Intel to AMD processors and also from Single core to Dual core processors.

"We would spend a whole day just getting one model of computer to work with all the drivers," continued Smith. "I wish I would have found this software years ago."

The UIU, introduced in 2004 by Big Bang LLC and distributed exclusively by Binary Research International, is designed to work with leading Windows hard drive cloning and data back-up software solutions such as Symantec Ghost, Altiris Migration Suite, Novell ZENworks, Acronis True Image, WDS, ImageX, SCCM and others. The UIU makes it possible for these programs to create a single hard disk copy or Image that will work with a wide range of computer makes, models and configurations (including Laptops). Deploying this clean Image can be the fastest and best way to clean up computers compromised by viruses, spyware, bad drivers and bad data.

Licensing for the UIU is per-seat and is based on the number of computers receiving an Image prepared with the UIU. For more information about the UIU or for a free trial download, visit www.BinaryResearch.net/UIU.
