OL904 3Com Boot Services and Ghost

Training delivered to your desktop via live webinar

What is 3Com Boot Services?

3Com Boot Services is a boot management solution, providing all of the utilities and services needed to configure a network for network booting and pre-operating system (Pre-OS) booting.

The utilities and services are included on the Symantec Ghost Solution Suite CD/DVD.  The installation program installs a PXE server that connects client PCs via their network cards when there is nothing on the hard drive and no other boot mechanisim available.  The result is a convenient method of booting into a DOS or Windows Pre-Boot (WinPE) network environment without requiring floppy disks, a boot CD or external bootable device.

This session describes how 3Com Boot Services works and shows how to install, configure and use the components necessary for automated network booting.
