OL903 DeployAnywhere

Training delivered to your desktop via live webinar

What does DeployAnywhere do?

The DeployAnywhere feature within Ghost Solution Suite provides the ability to retarget an Image to suit a computer that has different hardware from the model computer from which the Image was created.  This means a generic image can be deployed to a range of different computers, perform a re-targeting of each client automatically, rather than requiring a separate image for each client hardware set.

Users can deploy a generic Image to a range of different computers and perform a retargetting of the storage devices and network interface devices on the clients, rather than requiring a separate Image for each client hardware set.

The DeployAnywhere task step can be included immediately after the Clone step, to deploy an image and retarget it for the clients in a single task.  Alternatively, the DeployAnywhere step can be retained as a stand-alone task so that the Clone step does not have to be repeated when all that needs to be done is update a few missing drivers.

This session describes how to capture an Image using the GhostCast Server, and then deploy that Image to a range of target computers using the DeployAnywhere re-targeting feature.
